Director of Studies,

Truly man is a marvellously vain, diverse, and undulating object, said Michel de Montaigne in the opening lines of his famous Essays. It is hard to found any constant and uniform judgment on him. These two sentences made a lasting impression on Marc Rochette in his late teens and have stayed with him ever since. His professional life has undoubtedly been shaped by his tireless observation of human activity, a trait he learned from the famous Bordeaux writer. Marc has been involved in the college network for 35 years, serving as a teacher, coordinator, co-founder of a study unit specializing in short stories, editor of a collection of pedagogical works, conference speaker, literary host, writer, manager and, since 2018, director of studies.
His first contact with the AQPC dates back to the 1990s, when he attended his first symposium. He found himself alone from his college (or so he thought), overwhelmed by a flood of several hundred enthusiasts who impressed him with their dynamic vision of pedagogy and their generosity in sharing it. This first contact with the association showed him that categorizing all these educators at first glance, in a single stroke, would indeed be difficult, given the vast richness of their backgrounds, motivations, and experiences. He now believes the time has come to give back what he can to this nurturing community
