When grading my students' exams, I often ask myself, “Have they really developed the targeted competency, or have they simply memorized information and procedures to get the right answers?” In this talk, I will explain how individual interview exams have revitalized classroom dynamics, promoted lasting learning, stimulated motivation, and reduced anxiety levels in my groups.
I will share with you the logistical tips for streamlining the process, as well as the pedagogical materials developed to support this evaluation method. As a scientist, I will also present exploratory data on how students have received this approach and demonstrate how preparing for interviews utilizes artificial intelligence to support learning rather than compete with it.
