Teaching methodology in Human science using the InfoSphère tutorial

With a view to developing methodological skills (DMH), this article relates the setting up of an InfoSphère tutorial in the Human science program at Collège Edouard-Montpetit. After establishing the reasons behind this implementation and specifying the required adaptations for the college context, such as integrating the methodological files set up by teachers over the years, the educational material developed since the addition of methodological skills to certain profiles, and adapting the tutorial ‘quizzes’, the authors introduce Édouard Monpetit’s version of InfoSphère. It contains an introduction module plus eight other modules covering different methodological stages, from Defining one’s needs to Taking and writing notes and Cataloguing databases to name a few. With regard to feedback and the actual implementation, the authors retrace the gradual progress and describe a positive outcome for the experience, while insisting on the tutorial’s universal nature.
