Vibrant and colourful, this article relates the collaborative experience of two teachers committed to professional training in arts, one at Collège de Bois-de-Boulogne and the other at the Academia El Alba in Cuba. For the past three years, these two teachers have created an annual project, realized by the students in their respective colleges, based on a common theme: postal artwork, a tribute to a poet from the other country and the exploration of creative techniques on the theme of geographic, geopolitical and psychological insularity, a common experience for both student groups. As soon as one group has completed the task, the teacher sends photos of the works to the other teacher. The students are then invited to ask questions, comment on the works received and organize an exhibition of the works by both groups, thereby giving their respective communities the opportunity to learn more about their project, the context and the meaning of the works on display. For the students, this exchange provides a window to another reality, enables them to learn more about the history of art and stimulates reflection. In addition, it has also given rise to an exhibition that parallels the retrospective on Cuban art at the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts. In concluding, the testimonials of teachers involved provide an overview of their respective vision.
